Paying Maryland Business Taxes With a Credit Card

You can pay your Maryland sales and use tax as well as employer withholding tax liabilities with a credit card, using VISA, MasterCard, American Express or Discover. You can make your payment online at Official Payments Corp or over the phone by calling 1-800-2PAYTAX (1-800-272-9829).

Be sure to have both your tax bill and credit card on hand. Enter Jurisdiction Code 3000 at the appropriate prompt. You may also be asked to enter:

  • the 13-digit number on your tax bill
  • Social Security number
  • phone number
  • ZIP Code

After your payment is authorized, you will be given a confirmation number that you should keep for your records.

Official Payments Corporation charges a convenience fee for processing the credit card transaction. The fee is not paid to the state of Maryland. You can calculate your fee using Official Payments' convenience fee calculator. For assistance with your credit card transaction or credit card bill, visit Official Payments' Customer Service or review frequently asked questions.
